Papa Owusu Ankomah – I won’t resign

The Minister of Education Science and Sports, Papa Owusu Ankomah has denied newspaper reports that he intends to resign his position as a minister.

The Daily Express newspaper reported on early in the week that the minister planned to resign early next month to pursue his presidential ambitions in accordance with the ruling party's constitution which bars ministers from contesting on the party's ticket while in office.

But Papa Owusu Ankomah says he has no such plans.

In statement the minister said continued speculation on the issue is a mark of disrespect to President Kufuor with whom he first has to discuss any such matter.
