As part of his ongoing campaign tour across the three Bono regions, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), took time out of his packed schedule to meet with okada (motorbike taxi) riders in the Domaa East constituency.
The group of over 400 riders, recognized as a key part of the political landscape in the constituency, gathered to hear the Chairman's message.
Addressing the riders, Ntim urged them to rally behind the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Hon. Paul Twum, in the upcoming December 7 elections. He emphasized Dr. Bawumia's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the okada business and reassured the group that under Bawumia's leadership, the NPP would work to create a more efficient and supportive environment for their operations.
"The NPP understands the vital role the okada business plays in our transportation system," Ntim said. "Under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, we are committed to implementing measures that will streamline your activities and remove the barriers you face."
The okada riders expressed their appreciation for Ntim’s visit and the party’s attention to their welfare. They pledged their full support for both Dr. Bawumia and Hon. Paul Twum, promising to mobilize large numbers to vote in favor of the NPP. Their enthusiasm highlighted the growing support for the party in Domaa East, with many riders vowing to rally more of their colleagues to join the campaign, further strengthening the NPP’s grassroots support.
As the December elections approach, the endorsement from the okada riders signals a boost in the party's efforts to consolidate support within the constituency.
