Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah, the Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has blamed both the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the economic hardships Ghanaians are currently facing.
In an interview on Channel One TV, Nana Akosua blamed both parties for mismanaging the country’s resources in their respective administrations, which she believes has led to the rising cost of living, including basic necessities like kenkey now selling for GHC10.
“There’s also the same truth that the big parties are the ones who have squandered our money, they are the very reason why you and I are in debt.
“They are the reason Kenkey is selling GHC10. They are the reason why the young person cannot even pay for decent accommodation and a decent living,” she lamented.
She urged Ghanaians to back the CPP in the 2024 general elections, promising to address key issues like economic independence, affordable housing, and universal access to clean water if elected.
Nana Akosua emphasized the need for meaningful change, noting that many citizens are struggling to afford even three square meals a day.
