Mr. Joseph Denteh, Nkwanta District Chief Executive (DCE), has commended chiefs in the area for supporting the Assembly to ensure a successful celebration of Ghana’s 50th Anniversary.

He noted that their participation in the celebration created a sense of oneness needed to advance the course of the people and the district.

Mr. Denteh said this at an Easter lunch, organized by the Assembly for members to interact with chiefs in the district and to explain to them government policies.

The DCE urged the chiefs to show concern for government policies and to help the Assembly to educate the people on such programmes.

Mr. Denteh said he would cooperate with traditional rulers in the district towards the development of the area.

He urged traditional rulers in the area to support the School Feeding Programme, Capitation Grant, National Health Insurance Scheme and other government programmes to improve the standards of living of the people.

Mr. Denteh disclosed that a total number of 1,154 youths in the district had been employed under the National Youth Employment Programme.

Mr. Jakayi Kwame Jackson, Presiding Member of the Assembly, called on the traditional rulers to encourage the people to honour their tax obligation to speed up the development of the area.
