In addition to being hopeless and perplexed, thousands of Ghanaians have chosen not to support any political party because they are dissatisfied with the current administration. Why are people unable to use the solutions and quick fixes that are there in front of them to their advantage? It is as simple to acknowledge the fact that Ghanaians should stay away from a government that pledged to improve the economy and instead destroyed it if they had a better economy under John Mahama.
Ghana’s economy under the NDC or John Mahama was powered by both local and foreign businesses and investments. Until the NPP informed Ghanaians that Mahama was corrupt and incompetent, Ghana was one of the West African nations with a thriving economy, low unemployment, and inflation, thanks to the export of cash crops like cocoa. Yet, Akufo Addo, and Mahamudu Bawumia, fervently pleaded with Ghanaians to allow them to serve them better.
Despite the confidence that Ghanaians placed in them, the NPP committed numerous election crimes and frauds, such as setting up dynamite in the opposition's stronghold to intimidate the people in the opposition’s strongholds to keep them from casting ballots. These accusations of crimes committed by the ruling administration surfaced following a misunderstanding between the party and some of its members who had broken away.
“What Justifies Ken Ofori-Atta's Purge Of The Banking Sector, Which Resulted In License Revocation?” This article, which I wrote, highlights the first mistake the NPP government made that led to Ghana's economy's early collapse. Ghanaians didn't realize that the collapse of the banking institutions was purposefully caused by Ken Ofori-Atta, the president’s relative so that his Data Bank could maintain its monopoly until the government's governance-based book, "Ayapadie," was made public.
Among the many promises made by Akufo Addo and Bawumia was the establishment of a robust economy that would entice thousands of laborers from nearby nations to swarm Ghana in search of employment. In addition, they pledged to combat corruption, stop illicit mining, and turn Ghana into the "Dubai of Africa." Ghana is a rich country with a plethora of resources, such as gold, diamonds, oil, and cash crops like cocoa, yet the NPP couldn’t develop the nation and has a GHC 761 billion public debt.
Since many NPP politicians, including the president, Akufo Addo, are actively supporting illegal mining, the government's pledge to address it turned into a deceitful objective. There are two key things Ghanaians should be aware of, considering the damage caused by a government that promised them the best. First of all, a rich country would always fail if its leaders are idiots and secondly, Ghanaians should learn from their past mistakes, not trust a government that has destroyed the nation.
Why should any thinking Ghanaian believe or pay attention to the policies of a government that has ruined their country? It is quite disheartening to observe that Bawumia and Akufo Addo are campaigning as though they are in opposition because they have failed so miserably that they have no solutions to the nation’s problems. This is crucial for Ghanaians to think carefully about many factors before casting their ballots.
A Clear Guide To Choosing The Correct Political Party To Vote
- Parties can directly influence voters by making promises about welfare and higher living standards, among other things. It is a waste of time to support a party that hasn't lived up to its promise. Therefore, voters should think carefully about which party has best fulfilled their promises before casting their vote.
- A government that has proven to be genuinely committed to protecting the environment, rivers, and ecosystems to create a wholesome atmosphere and also a government that listens to the grievances of the common people, the youth, and tends to the elderly, should be the best to vote for.
- Ghanaians were informed by the opposition party, the NPP, before 2016 that Mahama should resign due to his corruption and incompetence, as seen by the rate of the Cedi, 3.74, against the US dollar, indicating the government's fragility. Any wise Ghanaian must now assess whether the current government has performed better and what is rate of the Cedi to the dollar is today.
- Budgets are presented to the Parliament for approval, and money is spent on project execution. Every Ghanaian must investigate the amount of money granted to the government and its effectiveness in carrying out initiatives. Has the funding been allocated to the appropriate projects or has it been directed to the wrong channels? If there is debt, how did it accrue?
- A responsible government should control the market, keep an eye on how the law is being applied, and defend the rights of the populace. Does the government uphold the Constitution and the rights of the people? If not, don't spend your time voting for such a party since they are irresponsible and will never lead you to the Promised Land.
- When someone tries to buy you off when it comes time to cast your vote, you should know that they are a failure and don't trust their party, which is why they are trying to buy you off. You always have a choice: accept the money or reject it. Don't vote for such an individual because not only will the money run out, but your nation's future will also be in jeopardy.
- Don't rely on other people's opinions. While friends, family, and coworkers may have prejudiced or incorrect beliefs, they can still impact your choice of candidate. It would be best if you based your choices on your priorities and an analysis of party policies. Ultimately, your vote can influence the nation's political climate and help shape will shape your destiny.
