Ghanaian boxer and socialite Briamah Kamoko, known as Bukom Banku, has issued a strong warning to key stakeholders, including the Electoral Commission (EC), the National Peace Council, and the government, ahead of the upcoming elections.
Bukom Banku cautioned that failure to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process could lead to chaos.
The outspoken boxer made these comments during the "Enough is Enough" demonstration on Tuesday, September 17, a protest organized by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to address concerns over discrepancies in the provisional voter register.
Bukom Banku, a vocal supporter of the NDC, urged the EC and other authorities to ensure the elections are conducted devoid of conflict.
"Tell Ghanaians, the National Peace Council, the EC, and NPP to stand firm. They should do things in an orderly manner so the elections are free and fair," he said.
He further emphasized that if these concerns are not addressed, NDC supporters are prepared to take action.
"We are ready for war and ready to take power. If the NPP wants to bring confusion, we are ready," he expressed.
While calling for peace, Bukom Banku warned that the situation could escalate if steps are not taken to resolve the issues surrounding the voter register.
