2024 Election: Thunder will strike you if NDC wins power and you don’t hand over power – Mahama warns Akufo-Addo

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has warned that thunder will strike anyone who will attempt to subvert the will of Ghanaians in the 2024 General Election.

Speaking during a campaign event at Kpone-Katamanso, the former President stressed that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will have no choice but to vacate the seat when the NDC wins the December 7 polls.

Ahead of the 2024 general election, several officials of the ruling New Patriotic Party government including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have indicated that power will not be handed to the NDC.

Speaking to a gathering of party supporters at a rally in Dobro in May, following a visit to Blue Skies Limited, President Akufo-Addo said his only hope is to see Dr. Bawumia elected President in the December general elections.

“This is our election year, and we have the limited registration has started. Anybody who hasn’t registered and is eligible should go and register. This is because your right to vote is your power.

“Also, when the time is up for the voting, our job is simple. The person I defeated and my work, since I took over, seems not to please him, I cannot hand over power to such a person,” President Akufo-Addo said.

Addressing this, John Dramani Mahama said thunder will strike anyone who will refuse to hand over power to the NDC if the party wins the upcoming election.

“The people of Ghana are going to decide who their leaders are for the next four years. It is not in anybody’s hands to say that when the people of Ghana have expressed their will for that person to say we shan’t hand over.

“You don’t have that capacity to stand against the people of Ghana when they have said NDC has won the election and you say you won’t hand over. My God, thunder will strike you. There you will see the anger of the people of Ghana,” John Dramani Mahama said.
