Kennedy Agyapong, an NPP politician, who has been doing all the dirty work and crimes of the NPP government for Akufo Addo, has been trying to persuade Ghanaians that he is a different person, one bringing about change in Ghana and as a businessman, has what it takes to motivate the youth to create a better future. Is Kennedy Agyapong someone Ghanaians should believe in or trust? I don't think so; in my opinion, the man has features that make him resemble a chameleon.
Similar to Matthew Opoku-Prempeh and Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong suffers from contradictory mental health difficulties. “No NPP leader is intelligent,” according to Agyapong, and Ghanaians don’t doubt that. “The vice president is incompetent and a false economist who caused the economy to collapse, thus, Bawumia cannot defeat Mahama in any presidential contest,” he added. Why then should Kennedy Agyapong officially endorse Bawumia at this point?
Since Kennedy Agyapong is the only NPP politician who has inspired me to write multiple articles about him, and once asked him to apologize to Ghanaians, I used to believe that he is a very brilliant man. Kennedy Agyapong was the sole member of the NPP to publicly criticize Akufo Addo's government, pointing out that high tariffs could devastate the country's economy by causing investments and businesses to collapse due to hefty port taxes. Ghanaians are living proof of that right now.
I wrote about how developing nations face challenges due to the corruption of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Kennedy Agyapong was the only NPP politician who spoke about the same issue, “corrupt World Bank, International Monetary Fund want Akufo Addo to fail,” which was published by Ghanaweb. This further leads me to believe that Agyapong is more astute to see how individuals who provide financial aid to underdeveloped nations also contribute to their demise.
The question is why this individual, who I have always considered intelligent and, more significantly, who has a sizable number of Ghanaians and supporters rooting for him to be the NPP presidential candidate rather than Bawumia, has disproved my belief by proving to be a dishonest and ungrateful liar who will accept payment to carry out orders without considering his prior statements. If Agyapong had been chosen as the party's presidential candidate, what may Ghanaians expect?
Kennedy Agyapong, who previously used a photograph to threaten a journalist on television, requesting to be beaten up and promising to pay anyone who would carry out that assignment, is not expressing regret for the assassination of Ahmed Hussein-Suale. Until now, the criminal case has remained unsolved because of the involvement of high-ranking individuals. Agyapong had supporters for president despite threatening to set Mahama's house on fire.
Agyapong seemed to be a prominent suspect in the murder of NPP politician J. B. Danquah-Edu; however, due to the involvement of the highest authority in the assassination, the case has also been deemed cold. Ghana has devolved into anarchy, with crimes rampant and impunity spreading throughout all establishments, including the Electoral Commission’s offices. I'm still not sure why Agyapong, who had previously spoken out against the corrupt practices and poor policies of his administration, now chooses to support Bawumia.
People like Ken Agyapong are not who they want Ghanaians to believe they are. Rather than the well-being or the welfare of the people, they are more concerned with power and the advancement of the NPP party. For this reason, Matthew Opoku Prempeh claimed that the Ashantes only need the party's T-shirts to secure votes, but they don't need development. This is also the reason that, after eight years of excessive spending, amid a GHC 771 billion national debt, the NPP government failed.
Workers in Ghana pay taxes and the government uses that money to fund law enforcement and other organizations like the Electoral Commission office. Therefore, Kennedy Agyapong's statement that "I am chairman for Ghana Gas if you don't vote for the NPP, we will not develop Kintampo" is wrong and, more crucially, threatens our democracy. Akufo Addo addressed the victims of the dam spill in a similar manner. How does Ghana advance with these politicians in charge?
The failure of the NPP does not surprise me. The troubling issue is the voter registration manipulations that are currently occurring with impunity to rig the presidential election in favor of a desperate, corrupt, and incompetent liar, whose desire to become president has driven him to visit a fetish priest's shrine even though his Muslim faith forbids such visits. Bawumia is probably just another of E-Levy's impositions to carry on the devastation if Ghanaians do not rise to resist and overthrow this repressive NPP regime.
Several writers have come out in favor of Bawumia as president, the same incompetent vice president who is to blame for the collapse of the financial system, enterprises, and investments. Every sensible Ghanaian should be aware that these writers put the ruling party's interests ahead of that of the people. The same writers who promoted Akufo Addo to his failure and attacked Mahama, who accomplished more in his four years in government than Akufo Addo and Mahamudu Bawumia, are promoting the vice president to be president because they believe that Ghanaians are morons.
The claim made by Bawumia that “the NPP has men is baseless and meaningless.” The NPP severely lacked men, which is why they would like to impose the insane Matthew Opoku-Prempeh as vice president, the incompetent liar Bawumia as president, and the manipulator and imposer Ken Agyapong, who has previously denounced his party. Ghanaians should ignore Agyapong to put up a strong struggle to topple this NPP regime because it is more harmful and destructive than any disease or epidemic.
