Dear Ghanaian Electorate,
My warmest greetings to you wherever and however you are. I am your fellow compatriot from Kumawu/Asiampa in the Ashanti region.
I am very much sure you are all aware of the impending general elections scheduled for Saturday, 7 December 2024, to elect a new president for Ghana and new members of parliament for the constituencies.
At such elections, you are to exercise your universal franchise. You go to the polls to vote for a candidate of your choice. Great!
In this upcoming election, there are many but two likely presidential candidates between whom any can be voted to become the replacement president for the outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo. They are Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia of NPP and Mr John Dramani Mahama of NDC.
While Dr Bawumia in my candid evaluation is calm and collected, humble, innovative, visionary and delivers his campaign messages with style and precision, Mr John Dramani Mahama on the other hand chooses the trajectory of incoherence, threats, and violence.
Mr Mahama claims NDC was born out of revolution so when it comes to unleashing violence, no political party or individual can match NDC. Subsequently, he is all over the place issuing unnecessary warnings and threats to institutions and individuals, probably on intent to intimidate them and the voting public to proceed to the polls to cast their votes for him and NDC.
Please, don’t be cowed by his tactical but criminal threats.
I am appealing to you, if possible, to vote for Dr Bawumia. He inspires hope and if given the nod to become the president of Ghana with your help, patience and understanding, he will catapult the nation into the very core of global economic prosperity.
Mr John Dramani Mahama by his policies-cum-programmes deficiency but exceedingly exuding hopelessness, will rather push Ghana into economic abyss were he unfortunately elected the president.
In the absence of any major external shocks during his presidency from 2012 to end of 2016, you will bear me witness how he messed up the Ghanaian economy, becoming “Mr Do Little”, crowning it all with “Dumsor” (nationwide power outage).
Yes, the country is now in economic crisis. The hardship has come about principally because of external shocks - Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russia/Ukraine war and other internal shortcomings of the government. However, the best person to help resolve or reverse the problems is Dr Bawumia but not Mr John Mahama.
The entire NDC apparatchiks cannot convincingly tell, let alone, explain their supposed flagship policy of 24-Hour Economy. With their difficulty to explain it, take it as more of fun fooling than any serious policy meant to create jobs for Ghanaians. It is a hoax.
Ghanaian electorate, I count on you to go to the polls with your head but not heart. Don’t fall for the deceits by Mr John Mahama, Sammy Gyamfi, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and their ilk. They have nothing good for the nation, as visionless, corrupt, liars and violent as they are.
Please, consider the future betterment of your children through the free Senior High School, if nothing at all, to vote for Dr Bawumia and NPP to continue to do more better things for you.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Yours truly,
Rockson Adofo
