Reverend Otuo Acheampong, Chairman of Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, last Sunday attributed the moral decadence in the society to lack of effective evangelism by Christians.
"Christians of today are more pre-occupied with materialism than propagating the gospel. It is about time we become focused and embark on effective evangelism to salvage the society from evil deeds," he added.

Rev Acheampong was preaching at a special service to climax the 85th Asante Presbytery Conference in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The two-day conference was under the theme "Go and make disciples of all nations."

He announced that a comprehensive and sustained evangelism would be embarked upon within the Presbytery this year to increase its membership.

In addition, he said vigorous campaign against indiscipline within the Presbytery would be undertaken to rid the church of practices and beliefs that were in contrast with Presbyterian discipline.

Rev Acheampong appealed to the members to be more committed and explore avenues to restore Presbyterian discipline within the Presbytery.

Rev Kwasi Kumi, Asawasi District Minister of the Church, called on Christians to lead exemplary lives worthy of emulation and for the growth of Christendom.
