Hon. Asiwome Nukomeko Tetteh, NDC Chairman for Ho West, has refuted claims of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) growing influence in the constituency.

He alleged that the NPP’s perceived gains during the 2020 election were a result of voter inducement, primarily through cash transfers via mobile money and other means.

Tetteh stated that the NDC has evidence to support their claims of the NPP’s attempts to sway voters through financial incentives, arguing that the ruling party has failed to deliver any real development for the people of Ho West. He accused the NPP of relying on these tactics to win votes instead of offering genuine solutions.

Speaking after the NDC’s health walk in Kpedze, which launched the party's door-to-door campaign, Tetteh asserted that the NPP candidate is no match for the NDC. He pointed to the NPP candidate's prior rejection in a party chairmanship contest as evidence of his lack of influence.

Tetteh also referenced the NPP's previous parliamentary candidate, who failed to win even his own branch in the 2020 election, as further proof of the party's weak presence in the constituency.

Outlining the NDC’s campaign strategy for the 2024 elections, Tetteh emphasized a personal approach focused on direct engagement with constituents through house-to-house and farm visits. "We will visit homes, markets, farms, and communities to explain our policies and ensure voters understand our message," he said, adding that this approach will help verify voter registration and assist those who haven't checked their status ahead of the December 7 election.

Tetteh expressed confidence in reaching their goal of securing 45,000 votes, predicting that the NPP candidate would not even garner 2,000 votes. He urged NDC members to unite and support the party's efforts to secure victory in the upcoming election.
