The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, popularly known as "Tsentse," has officially filed his nomination forms with the Electoral Commission (EC) as he seeks re-election.
The incumbent MP expressed confidence in retaining the seat for the NDC in the upcoming parliamentary elections on December 7. He also voiced optimism about former President John Dramani Mahama's chances of winning the 2024 presidential election and returning as the next President of Ghana.
Vanderpuije emphasized that Mahama’s return would bring significant development, including job creation, improved educational infrastructure, and enhanced road and drainage systems, not just for Ablekuma South but for the entire nation.
He argued that Mahama's leadership would relieve Ghanaians from the hardships they face under the administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, promising policies that would foster a better living environment.
One of the key initiatives Vanderpuije highlighted was the NDC’s 24-hour economy plan, which he believes will create numerous job opportunities for the country’s unemployed youth.
He assured that the NDC will run a peaceful campaign, avoiding insults and name-calling, and urged Ghanaians to make a thoughtful decision on December 7.
A victory for Vanderpuije would be significant, allowing him to match the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) three-term tenure in the constituency, further solidifying his legacy and leadership.
The MP was accompanied by constituency leaders, including the Constituency Chairman, as well as other party executives and supporters when he submitted his nomination forms.
