The Western Regional Coordinating Council, in collaboration with its partners, has launched the "Ghana Energy Week," an annual event designed to accelerate Ghana's energy transition, promote decarbonization, and eliminate energy poverty.
Ghana Energy Week brings together leaders from Ghana's energy sector, global investors, public and private sector executives, exhibitors, speakers, policymakers, and energy experts. The event aims to explore new opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and discuss Ghana's innovative approach to diversifying its energy mix and shaping the future of its energy industry.
This interactive conference will feature exhibitions, networking opportunities, panel discussions, investor forums, industry summits, and one-on-one meetings. The event's mission is to make energy poverty a thing of the past by 2040, while driving conversations that will reshape the continent's energy landscape.
The 2024 edition, scheduled for November 14-15 at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi, will take place under the theme: *“Renaissance of Ghana’s Energy: A Renewed Commitment Towards Inclusive and Sustainable Energy Transition, Decarbonization, and Making Energy Poverty History for Economic Diversification.”*
As Ghana continues to play a pivotal role in the global energy landscape, the inaugural Ghana Energy Week celebrated the country’s achievements as a catalyst for global economic growth. With billions of dollars required to support the country’s energy transition, this event provides an unmatched opportunity for the international energy community to explore business opportunities in one of the world’s most important energy markets.
Building on the success of Ghana's energy development, the 2024 event will welcome policymakers, business leaders, industry professionals, and energy experts to uncover new opportunities and forge stronger partnerships.
Recognizing the strategic link between energy and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Ghana Energy Week aims to mobilize political momentum, resources, and alliances to drive structural transformation. This transformation will focus on harnessing Africa’s diverse natural resources while embracing technological advancements and global socio-political trends.
The event is expected to unlock a vibrant Pan-African energy enterprise, fostering inclusivity and sustainability. It aims to engage all economic agents, including SMEs, youth, and women, in creating national wealth, generating jobs, and expanding entrepreneurial opportunities across Ghana.
Ghana Energy Week will underscore the urgency of bold actions needed to drive transformative change in key economic sectors, with energy at the forefront.
