Adventure group Wanderlust Ghana has partnered with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to launch their upcoming overland journey—a 30,000km expedition from Accra to Dubai and back.
The team of six will depart from the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra on Sunday, September 8, where the expedition will be flagged off in a take-off celebration.
“Wanderlust Ghana embodies adventure, exploration, and a commitment to creating meaningful connections across continents, driven by a passion for discovery and philanthropy," said a statement from the GTA dated September 5.
Over two months, the group will pass through 31 countries in Africa, Europe and the Middle East aboard three vehicles.
Key stops along the route include Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Morocco, France, Turkey, Iraq, UAE and more.
"They are story-tellers of Ghana's untapped potential, bridging cultures and championing various causes. Through this expedition, Wanderlust Ghana aims to highlight Africa's potential as a tourism and investment hub, sharing Ghana's rich culture, vibrant history, and tourism potential with the world," reads part of the GTA statement.
This ambitious journey builds on Wanderlust Ghana's increasing international profile, having completed a successful Accra to London expedition last year.
The group is renowned for using travel to connect communities and cultures.
