Headlines Presidency denies having interest in GIS land
THU, 05 SEP 2024 LISTEN

The Office of the President has issued a press release reacting to the Office’s alleged involvement in the encroachment on the Ghana International School (GIS) property.

GIS has been compelled to use its school buses as a blockade to prevent an illegal takeover of their land in Cantonments following a failed invasion to annex parts of its land last Saturday.

GIS is also hurriedly erecting a fence wall, hopefully, as a more permanent solution to protect its lands.

Reacting to an allegation that the Presidency has a hand in the ordeal of GIS, the Office of the President has stated emphatically that it has no interest in the piece of land in question.

“The attention of the Office of the President has been drawn to an allegation that the Office, acting through the Head of the VIP Unit has been involved in a dispute over a piece of land belonging to Ghana International School.

“We wish to place on record the following: the Office of the President does NOT have any interest whatsoever in the piece of land in question,” the presidency said in a press release.

The Office of the President categorically stated that no officer, agent or assign has been directed to secure and/or interfere in any matter pertaining to GIS land within Cantonments.

Meanwhile, the Office of the President has indicated it has made a formal complaint to the Inspector General of Police to investigate the entire matter.

The Office has called on the general public to disregard any false statements to the contrary.
