Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the spokesperson for opposition National Democratic Congress flagbearer John Mahama's 2024 campaign, has criticised the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's economic record.
In a social media post on Thursday, September 5, Joyce Bawah noted that the economy Bawumia was tasked to fix has collapsed and gone bankrupt.
The opposition party’s stalwart cited Ghana's external debt which has now ballooned to a "colossal GHC 740 Billion."
She pointed to past electioneering campaigns when Dr. Mahamudu frequently held lectures to brag about his economic prowess while in opposition.
“How could he have delivered all those intentionally-calculated lectures if he didn’t believe in the content and solutions he was sharing? Is he a trickster?" she asked.
The VEEP, Joyce Bawah argued, "is deeply entangled in this corruption and state capture,” which the opposition party say has been dominant under the current administration.
She urged Ghanaians not to “be deceived by Bawumia's rhetoric” because he “is not a fresh face; he is not his own man and he has no new vision."
