O, my country Ghana, the land of my birth, is on the brink of destruction yet, the people and their leaders don’t see it. They are more interested in power and how to acquire wealth at the blink of the eye or the crack of the finger.
The Ghanaian is deplorably more individualistic than nationalist. They love pursuing the acquisition of personal immense wealth, fame, power, and authority than the collective interests of the people and the country.
What type of people are they? Doesn’t their behaviour give them away as collectively stupid people holed in a shithole country? I can’t get my head around how Ghanaians love conducting themselves so individualistically to end up being guilty of nonchalance about their future welfare.
Both the leaders and the ordinary citizens of Ghana are guilty of negligence of duty amid the rapidly ongoing destruction of the water bodies (rivers, lakes) in the country.
Small scale miners, be they legal or illegal, are intentionally destroying the water bodies, arable and fertile lands, and forests in the country yet, both the leaders and the citizens have kept quiet, watching as though, they are blind so they can’t see.
Any race of people that cannot see to appreciate the importance of water as life, is sorry to say, fools!
If I see the rate that the nation’s rivers have been destroyed by small scale illegal and alluvial miners, thus, galamseyers, without any effective or drastic action taken to stop them but left to continue with their trade, I shake my head in total disbelief.
The system is not working in Ghana, an indication that we don’t have responsible leaders in the country hence, the nation abounding in lawlessness, wanton destruction of the water bodies and all that constitutes the source of their future survivability and sustainability.
Why should we allow foreigners, principally legal and illegal Chinese nationals to flock the nation like vermin only to come to destroy the elements of the survivability and sustainability of the people? Why can’t they come to do legal activities expected of both the natives and immigrants of the nation but to choose to seek quick wealth through the destruction of the life of the nation as they do?
I don’t blame them, but the ineffective leadership and the nonchalance attitude of Ghanaians as exacerbated by their love of corruption, believe in acquisition of personal wealth at the expense of the collective interests of the citizens and all sorts of nonsense as we see unfold on daily basis.
Don’t we have anyone to rescue the nation, especially, the elements of life (water, forest, land, etc.) from that intentional destruction by those few selfish, powerful, myopic, and senseless Ghanaians and their Chinese accomplices?
Why should we allow these few greedy bastards to cause irreparable damage to the nation to culminate in the mass annihilation of the people and the country?
I don’t care whoever takes offence as long as I believe to have said the truth.
I am really peeved to see Mr John Dramani Mahama and his NDC guys go into the areas of heavy galamsey activities to reassure them of his support should they vote for him to become the president of Ghana. Is this man a rational being at all? For political power, he doesn’t care about the welfare of the nation hence promising to resource the illegal miners to expand their activities.
We are all aware of how the galamsey is destroying the future of Ghana yet, nobody seems to care. Soldiers assigned to the galamsey areas to stop the activity end up supporting the activity, it is alleged.
Ghana herself is crying for a rescuer but the people devoid of foresight can’t see or hear it.
Is the current crop of Ghanaian politicians worth to be called leaders and be trusted to save the nation from destruction?
This current system of multi-party democracy is to me not the panacea for all or most of Ghana’s problems but rather their cause.
We need a union government as proposed by late Ghana Head of State General Ignatius Kutu Acheampong. This will avoid the situation of political parties undermining their rivals in power in the most devilish ways just to bring them down as is manifested in NDC against the NPP.
I am so annoyed that I had better stop to come back another day. However, just watch the videos below, one or two among the thousands as are occurring in other parts of Ghana.
All our big rivers and their tributaries have been destroyed by galamsey activities, yet we have politicians, traditional leaders, and opinion leaders in the country.
Shame on all of us for failing to play our part to save Mother Ghana from destruction.
