The Nature and Development Foundation, in collaboration with A Rocha Ghana and WACAM, has launched a two-day knowledge workshop focusing on evidence-gathering, personal safety, and organizational security.
The event, funded by the European Union (EU) under the BRACE (Building Resilience and Active Communities in Extractive Landscapes) project and UKaid under the Building Active Actors and Systems to Support (BAASS) Deforestation-Free Communities in Ghana and Liberia project, aims to strengthen the skills of participants in these critical areas.
Taking place from September 3 to 4, 2024, the workshop seeks to equip participants with essential techniques for evidence collection and strategies to ensure both personal and organizational safety. The initiative is particularly relevant given the rising threats faced by environmental activists, community leaders, and organizations involved in climate change adaptation and natural resource management.
Collaboration for Greater Impact
The Nature and Development Foundation, a leading advocate for sustainable development in Ghana, spearheads this initiative in partnership with A Rocha Ghana and WACAM, both of which are recognized for their commitment to environmental conservation and community empowerment.
The collaboration brings together a wealth of experience and expertise, ensuring that the workshop is both informative and impactful.
Participants include representatives from various community-based organizations, NGOs, the media, and local leaders actively engaged in environmental advocacy and natural resource management.
The workshop provides a platform for sharing experiences, acquiring new skills, and fostering stronger networks among those dedicated to safeguarding Ghana's environment.
