The Chief of Gomoa Potsin, Nana Tweiku VIII, has called on his colleagues to be conversant with the re-denomination exercise to give better explanation to their subjects.

Speaking at a forum organized by the Gomoa District Directorate of the National Commission on Civic Education at Gomoa Potsin in the Central region, Nana Tweiku commended the Bank of Ghana and the NCCE for the sustained education on the re-denomination exercise.

He advised chiefs not to rule out misunderstandings which could arise between traders and their customers over balances as the old and the new currencies would be used side by side for six months.

"This enjoined us to be conversant with the exercise so that we can help to resolve problems amicably," he stated.

Nana Tweiku suggested to his colleagues to invite people with knowledge about the exercise to educate their people. He adds: "We should not wait for such people to come to us."

Mr Stephen Agyei Yeboah and Mr E.T. Mensah, Field Officer and District Director of the Commission respectively took the gathering through "dos" and "don'ts" of the re-denomination exercise, especially on how to convert the old currency to the new one and vice versa.
