Africa leaders, stop pussyfooting about with covid and Russia/Ukraine war

America says to Africa, "You are hungry because of war in Ukraine." Africa leaders will wholeheartedly swallow it. As we say in akan language, Tweeaaa!.. mansa musa writes ✍️

What's happening in the Middle East. The daily pummelling of the Palestine homes. The deaths and destruction.(Aljazeera tv is doing a good job of parading dead bodies on the street floors and having constant chat with experts)

The lawlessness of the Houthi herdsmen(sorry, rebels) in Yemen that has culminated in the disruption of shipping activities in the Mediterranean sea through the Red Sea and beyond. The barbaric onslaught on Palestine by Israel rather form a major hindrance to world trade. But the Americans have not said so. For this, the rest are quiet.

The American narrative, which has become the favourite catchphrase for failed governments. Governments in countries with failed economies have conveniently latched on to American narrative of *Russia/Ukraine war.* very cynical, but that's our reality.

Ridiculously, African citizens have come to believe that their food basket is locked up in Ukraine, when it is a fact that 90% of our staple foods are farmed on the continent of Africa. Governments are telling citizens that our problems are to be blamed on Russia for attacking Ukraine. Russia/Ukraine mantra has indeed presented a convenient reprieve for failed governments, disconcerting fact.

In Ghana and elsewhere on the continent, a government that had wasted billions on agricultural programmes with negligible outcomes in terms of food adequacy mask or cover their weak and appalling performances, wastefulness, and incompetence with Russia/Ukraine mantra. When actually it is America's unstoppable quest and their unquenchable appetite for world dominance that is creating unnecessary and avoidable problems all of us.

If only leadership in Egypt, in Tunisia, in Morocco, in South Africa, in Nigeria, and the also-runs, which includes Ghana, would seek a united front in Africa. Just imagine the resultant gains if Africa's governments stopped being follow follow in world geopolitics and took the continental AU more seriously instead of them competing against each other in a game of who gains more favours from the EU, from China and from America.

Can this negative phenomenon on the part of Africans ever change, or is it too late. Let me, mansa musa, have your views.
