As part of efforts to protect public properties, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Francis Asenso Boakye, has directed the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to stop the construction of a building project in the metropolis.

The building, which is located at the TUC Junction in Kumasi, is on a waterway and very close to the Dakodwom road that is being expanded.

According to the minister, the location of the building would cause the road to deteriorate in a few years after its completion.

The minister led a team to inspect ongoing road projects at Sokoban Wood Village, TUC, Bantama, Nhyieaso and Oforikrom, all in the Kumasi metropolis.

He also inspected ongoing rehabilitation works on the Akyawkrom area roads in Ejisu.

Other places the team visited included the Kwabre East and South Districts.
