Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, is scheduled to undertake a one-day tour of three key markets in Accra on Thursday, August 15.
During her visit, she will engage with traders, stakeholders, and community members to gain insight into their experiences and challenges.
She will visit Mallam Atta, Kaneshie and Makola markets to interact with market women, traders, shop attendants, shoppers, kayayei, commercial drivers and passengers, among others.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will use the opportunity to explain the NDC’s women’s financial empowerment policies and plans, including the proposed establishment of a Women’s Development Bank.
About one million women in business, including food vendors, market women, bakers, hairdressers and dress-makers are expected to benefit from loans with flexible payment terms.
