A pressure group, Executive Director of Dagbon Advocacy Network, chief Nurudeen Ibrahim says politicians have failed to address the core challenges of the Ghanaian youth.

According to him, he doesn't have hope in politicians anymore especially the leadership of the two major political parties, NDC and NPP.

“With the exclusion of Kwame Nkrumah, this our recent politicians prioritize amassing wealth for themselves and their families, offering only temporary, one year contracts that fail to provide stability or a clear future,” he stated.

In a statement to observe this year's International Youth Day, chief Nurudeen advised politicians to take concrete actions to address youth unemployment.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY STATEMENT FROM CHIEF OF DAGBON ADVOCACY NETWORK

As we mark International Youth Day, I am compelled to speak out on the dire situation facing Ghana's young people of which I'm part. Despite their skills and qualifications, graduates and skilled youth are struggling to find meaningful employment. Meanwhile, politicians prioritize amassing wealth for themselves and their families, offering only temporary, one-year contracts that fail to provide stability or a clear future.

As the Executive Director of Dagbon Advocacy Network, I have lost hope in politicians to genuinely address the plight of our youth. It is imperative that they shift their focus towards prioritizing youth development and creating sustainable opportunities for growth and prosperity.

I urge the Ghanaian government to take concrete actions to address youth unemployment, invest in education and skills training, and foster an environment that supports entrepreneurship and innovation. Our youth deserve better than tokenistic gestures and temporary measures. It is time for a paradigm shift that puts the needs and aspirations of Ghana's youth at the forefront of policy-making.

Let us work together to build a brighter future for our young people, and restore hope in a system that has consistently failed them.
