MTN, operators of Areeba has earmarked $100 million for the development of infrastructure and improvement of network quality in Ghana between April and June this year.
The group recently posted a 73 percent increase in subscriber base to 40 million in the emerging markets within which it operates, with the subscriber base in Ghana rising slightly above two million.
The Corporate Services Executive of Areeba, Mawuena Dumor has told Joy Business Report the West and Central African group to which Ghana belongs contributed some 41 percent of the revenue accruing to MTN.
She said the group intends to raise more revenue through improved service in the local market.
