The National Chairman of the Convention People's Party (CPP), Dr. Edmund Delle, has called on Dr. Sekou Nkrumah, the last son of the first President of Ghana, to re-consider his decision to join the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and use his expertise to help build the CPP.

Dr. Delle said, “I haven't seen his statement to join the NDC, I only heard it in the news, but if it's true, I consider it as very unfortunate and I think he should reconsider his decision because it's this time that the CPP needs people like him, and it's not for him to help build some other persons' party."

The Ghanaian Voice newspaper says Dr. Delle made the remark in an interview it had with Dr. Delle at the Institute of Economic Affairs (lEA) on Monday, this week, in response to recent media publications that Sekou Nkrumah would soon be heading for the NDC party.

The CPP Chairman intimated that one could make a choice and rescind it, and so it was not too late for Dr. Sekou Nkrumah to reconsider his decision.

Dr. Delle contended that instead of Dr. Sekou Nkrumah joining any other political party it would be prudent for him to join his father's party so that together, they can all find solutions to the problems of the CPP.

He further advised him to come back to the CPP so that together the CPP can take over the mantle of presidency from New Patriotic Party government. The CPP Chairman said Dr. Nkrumah should join the CPP to improve on what his father did which the CPP now calls “The Nkrumah's Miracle.”

About a fortnight ago, the Ghanaian observer newspaper published a front page story to the effect that the last son of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah would soon join the main opposition party NDC.
