Angel Smile Foundation, a non-governmental organization (NGO), has donated boxes of blood pressure cuffs to La Polyclinic and Korle-bu Teaching Hospital.

This initiative was part of their celebration of the Homowo festival, during which they also provided lunch to the nurses, aiming to enhance the quality of healthcare services at these facilities.

La Polyclinic received 37 boxes of disposable blood pressure cuffs, each containing 120 pieces. The National Cardio Centre and the Child Health Department of the hospital also received 37 boxes each, while the Maternity Ward received 39 boxes. These disposable cuffs are used to measure patients' blood pressure and are connected to digital monitors.

Madam Iris Quarshie, a representative of the foundation, expressed that the donation was a gesture to extend Homowo New Year’s wishes to the nurses and patients and to recognize the healthcare staff's exceptional dedication over the past year. She emphasized the foundation’s mission to support orphans, teenage mothers, and those in need, especially those who have faced abuse and lost control over their lives.

Asafoatse Aboabone Kwei Dzan Mansah III, the coordinator of Angel Smile Foundation, described the donation as a modest contribution from the foundation. The founder of the organization, who is also the La Dzarase Development Queen Mother, Naa Ofamota Otsejen I, stated that the donation was aimed at aiding quality health delivery at the hospitals. She reiterated her commitment to supporting orphans and ensuring quality healthcare delivery, highlighting her continuous efforts in donating to various hospitals in the country.

The Dzarase Development Queen Mother pledged her ongoing support to doctors and nurses to encourage them to provide quality healthcare to patients. She also called for peace and unity among the Gas during this year's Homowo, noting that the festival attracts people from across the country and the world.

The foundation urged the youth not to be swayed by any political party to incite trouble before, during, or after the election.

The beneficiary hospitals, La Polyclinic and Korle-bu Teaching Hospital, expressed their gratitude for the donation and assured that the blood pressure cuffs would be put to good use. They emphasized the importance of blood pressure checks for every patient visiting the hospital and called on other organizations to support the hospital’s vision of providing quality healthcare services to Ghanaians.
