NDC flagbearer and former president John Dramani Mahama will on Monday launch the party's youth manifesto and hold a townhall meeting engaging Ghanaian youth as the country marks International Youth Day.
According to a statement from Mahama's campaign, the youth manifesto launch will take place at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) on the morning of August 12.
This will be followed by an evening townhall meeting dubbed "Mahama Youth Townhall" at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
"These events will showcase [Mahama's] initiatives and policies to tackle youth unemployment, providing education, skills and digital training, entrepreneurship, and more," Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Mahama's spokesperson said in the statement dated August 7.
"Mahama's vision, a beacon of hope, is centred on Building the Ghana we want together. He believes in empowering the youth and creating opportunities for them to thrive and succeed,” it added.
The events provide Mahama an opportunity to directly engage Ghanaian youth and present his plans aimed at addressing their challenges including unemployment, access to education and skills training if elected in December.
It will also allow the youth to interact with the opposition leader and get firsthand information on how he intends to prioritize and empower them to help build the Ghana of their dreams.
