The Chairman of the Begoro branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) of TUC,Alex Kwabena Amoama has cautioned drivers in the Fanteakwa District to renew their Vehicle Income Tax (VIT) certificates regularly to avoid embarrassment.

Mr Amoama gave the warning when the Union invited personnel from the Koforidua Office of the Internal Revenue Service to Begoro to renew VIT certificate for drivers in the District.

He said the Union would not shield any VIT defaulter after the exercise and warned that such drivers would have themselves to blame when caught by law enforcement agencies.

Mr Amoama said the Union had resolved to bring down IRS personnel to Begoro quarterly to facilitate the VIT renewal process for drivers.

He appealed to the IRS to open a sub-district office at Begoro to facilitate the renewal of taxes in the District and increase revenue for the nation.
