The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to unveil its policy document for the 2024 elections in Takoradi, the Western Regional capital.
In a statement dated August 5 and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP announced that the manifesto launch will take place on Sunday, August 18, 2024 in Takoradi.
"The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is pleased to announce to the public, the launch of its 2024 Manifesto, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Takoradi in the Western Region," part of the statement read.
A 11-member committee chaired by Madam Oboshie Sai-Cofie has also been constituted to oversee the planning and execution of the highly anticipated manifesto launch.
"The Party has constituted the following 11-member committee to oversee the planning and execution of the event," Mr Frimpong disclosed in the statement.
Prominent party members including Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Fati Abubakar and Dr Antoinette Tsibo-Darko are among those listed on the manifesto launch committee.
The decision to unveil the 2024 policy document, which will outline the NPP's plans and programmes for Ghanaians if re-elected, in Takoradi is seen as a way of drumming home the party's message in the key Western Region swing vote.
The manifesto launch will provide a platform for the party's flagbearer and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to articulate the achievements of his party’s government and his vision to transform Ghana over the next four years if elected.
