Farewell to Isaac Ebo Pieterson

Tributes & Condolences Farewell to Isaac Ebo Pieterson
SUN, 04 AUG 2024

Mr. Isaac Ebo Peiterson who passed away, aged 79, epitomised old school Fantiness: He was a gentlemen's gentleman, whose word was his bond - always keeping his side of the bargain: and expecting others that he dealt with, to keep theirs, too, on pain of incurring his displeasure if they didn't, because he was always fair. It was a privilege to have known him.

He was charismatic and had great physical presence - a giant of a man with noble bearing, and nobility of character, whose offspring and their children, appear to have inherited this nobility and fair-mindedness based on principle, which characterised their family's patriarch.

Afiawura Ebo (one's affectionate nickname for him), lived a God-centered life, and anchored his daily interactions with others, on Christian values and ethics for that reason. That made him compassionate, caring and truthful, at all material times. Plain-speaking-diplomacy defined the way he operated and interacted with the world at large, while alive. He will be sorely missed by many. No question.

A very, very wise and cautious gentleman, his was a life truly well-lived, and free of scandal. One is sure that that will be the enduring characteristic, remembered by all who knew and cherished Issac Ebo Peiterson, till they too pass away. May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord God Almighty.

Naturally, on the day of his internment, today, 4th August, 2024, at his home town, the historic Central Regional town of Apam, the thoughts and prayers of those who knew him, will be with his surviving relations and closest friends. One prays for courage and strength for all of them - to enable them endure their loss. Fare thee well, Isaac Ebo Peiterson!
