Akufo-Addo’s gov’t must be held accountable for the state capture implemented in Ghana – Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has accused President Akufo-Addo’s government of engaging in state capture.

Speaking while on his campaign tour of the Upper East Region on Saturday, August 3, the former President said President Akufo-Addo’s administration must be held accountable for the government lands and state property captured in the last eight years.

He said government officials of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government must also be held accountable for amassing wealth for themselves.

“We need to hold this government accountable, for the hardship and the crisis that they have subjected Ghana to, for the state capture that they have implemented in Ghana over the past 8 years, buying every state property, buying all the government lands, and amassing wealth for themselves,” John Dramani Mahama said.

Meanwhile, the former President has also shared his view on the controversial Agyapadie document which details an alleged grand plan by the NPP to capture state assets and loot from the country.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo’s assertion that the document is a fabrication by his political opponents is false.

John Dramani Mahama said even if the document is a fabrication its implementation is not.

“Recently there was an issue about a document called Agyapadie, they said it is fabricated but even if it is fabricated, the implementation is not fabricated. Because everything that is written in that document has been implemented.

“So if really somebody sat and fabricated that document then the person can really read the minds of people because how they could have written that document and was the mind of Nana Akufo-Addo and his family that this what they were going to do then that person is proper creative writer,” John Dramani Mahama said.
