Why do we never learn from past egregious errors of judgement by governments-of-the-day?
LISTEN

Apparently, dear critical-reader,
Honourable Kennedy Adjapong has expressed fears that new earthmoving equipment allocated to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), will end up being used to enrich corrupt individuals.

(Kennedy Agyapong fires warning to MMDAs as government's DRIP project begins)

More to the point, though, perhaps the question that truly patriotic Ghanaians, who love Mother Ghana passionately, ought to ponder over is: Why do we never learn from past egregious errors of judgment by governments-of-the-day, in our country?

Furthermore, is it not an open secret that even little schoolchildren are aware that it is always better to rely on the private sector for infrastructure development and expansion?

That is why most of them are likely to respond, when asked, that what the government ought to do in this particular instance (that is of such concern to Honourable Kennedy Adjapong, lol), is to simply give the earthmoving equipment to the Association of Ghanaian Road Contractors: which will then distribute them to their regional branches, to empower their members to develop tolled rural road networks, across the entire territorial landmass of our Republic, in exchange for swapping the mountainous debt pile that government owes them, and is unable and unlikely to ever pay them, in full, for quite some time to come, alas, Ghanafuor.

That said, we must also pose the question: Won't handing over the nation-building task of constructing tolled road networks, nationwide, to the private sector, obviate the need for endless per-diem-generating monitoring and evaluation sorties, by sundry oversight committees of the MMMDAs - allegedly jam-packed with self-seeking, state-capture rent-seeking insider carpetbagger -wheeler-deal-makers, according to bush telegraph sources, dear critical-reader?

Finally, dear critical-reader, it is for all the above-mentioned reasons that as much as possible, governments-of-the-day, ought to leave infrastructure projects in the hands of private sector entities, selected in open and transparent public procurement bidding. Simple.

Let us be a tad more solutions-oriented responsible citizens in this country - instead of constantly resorting to endless and pointless buck-passing, to censure hard-of-hearing criticism-averse politicians: who, after all, in the final analysis, are mostly in politics, only to amass wealth at society's expense, Ghanafuor. That is a complete waste of time and energy, oooo, lol. Yooooooooo. A word to the wise...

Which political party manifesto inspires hope?
