Organise and kick out your incompetent Council Chair; he doesn’t know how to chair – Prof. Gyampo to UTAG-UCC

President of UG-UTAG, Prof. Ransford Gyampo has admonished UTAG members at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to rally together and kick out the Chairman of the University’s Council, Prof. Harold S. Amonoo-Kuofi.

In a post on Facebook on Thursday, August 1, Prof. Ransford Gyampo said this is necessary because the Council Chairman has displayed incompetence in appointing a new Vice-Chancellor.

This comes after Prof. Harold S. Amonoo-Kuofi reportedly authored a letter terminating the appointment of the current Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong.

According to Prof. Ransford Gyampo, Prof. Harold S. Amonoo-Kuofi does not know how to Chair a Council and must be kicked out.

“UTAG-UCC, your Council Chair has been very incompetent in handling the appointment of your VC. Council isn’t only about its Chair! All over the world, Council Chairs aren’t like this. Organize and kick him out. He doesn’t know how to chair,” Prof. Ransford Gyampo said in his post.

Meanwhile, the Management of the University of Cape Coast has issued a press release indicating that it has not met to discuss or take a decision to terminate the appointment of Vice Chancellor Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong.

It said records available from the last meeting on Tuesday, July 30, did not include the Vice Chancellor’s tenure.

“The University community and the general public are, therefore, entreated to disregard the publication,” a release from the University’s management said.
