The family of the late President, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, has voiced their frustration with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over what they perceive as disrespect during the 12th anniversary wreath-laying ceremony at the Asomdwee Park.
Expressing their dissatisfaction, several family members alleged they were mistreated by party officials at the event.
In reaction, they have threatened to vote against the NDC in the upcoming December 7 elections, vowing to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a video posted by UTV on X, one family member stated, "I am an avid NDC supporter and everybody in Central Market knows I campaign for Mahama.
“But what they did today, they didn't regard us nor respect us. As family members, we were told to report at the ceremony from 7 am to 12 pm. When we arrived, they told us to leave, even when we tried to partake in the prayers, they said we shouldn't do so."
“I know Mahama is innocent of today's happenings, but he has been clearly affected, so no member of our family will vote for the party," she said angrily.
Another member lamented, "I am an NDC member, but after what they have done today, we are going to break the 8," he stressed.
The wreath-laying ceremony and memorial service were held to honor the memory of the late former president.
The event provided an opportunity for Ghanaians to pay their respects and remember the legacy and contributions made by Prof. Atta Mills to the country.

If breaking the 8th cycle is like breaking a wood into two pieces, that would have been a great worry, but not a group of people who are satisfied and issuing threats.
