Trump furious: He wants compensation from Biden -"Has to start all over again"

The cards are being reshuffled, suddenly Donald Trump is the oldest presidential candidate of all time. At the end of the next term, he would be 83 and therefore older than the 81-year-old Biden today. This collapses the Trump campaign's strongest argument, namely that Biden is no longer fit for office due to his age.

It is not only the Democrats who have to rethink and quickly select a new candidate, but the Republicans now also have to replan everything.

It seems likely that Vice President Kamala Harris will be Donald Trump's opponent. However, the decision could take weeks before the Democratic Party conference in Chicago from 19 to 22 August. Initial calls are being made that there should be internal party snap primaries and that Harris should not simply be chosen from above, i.e. by the party elite.

What looks like an election campaign advantage for Trump - after all, the Democrats continue to appear disorientated - is also a problem for him and his campaign. Anti-Biden adverts and other campaign material that targeted the incumbent president as an opponent can now go in the dustbin.

On his ‘Truth Social’ platform on Sunday, Trump was furious about the damage caused.

‘So we are forced to invest time and money in fighting the fraudulent Joe Biden, who after a horrible debate gets bad poll numbers and drops out of the race. Now we have to start all over again. Shouldn't the Republican Party be compensated for the fraud, since everyone around Joe, including his doctors and the fake news media, knew he wasn't fit to run for president or be president?’

For the Democrats, the change at the top was probably the only chance to stop a second Trump presidency. Especially in TV debates, a quick-witted opponent like Kamala Harris is likely to perform much better than Biden recently. The Republican will now have to completely rethink his position and will find himself on the defensive when it comes to the age issue.
