Obuasi-based non-governmental organization Mama Love Foundation has teamed up with Achievers Medical Center to train and employ five young people in sonography.
Speaking to the media, the President of Mama Love Foundation, Dr. Love Konadu, said the initiative is part of the skills development agenda of Mama Love Foundation. She emphasized the importance of youth acquiring skills to better position themselves in the job market.
Dr. Konadu also mentioned that those enrolled in the short course would receive partial scholarships from the Mama Love Foundation.
"This partnership between Mama Love Foundation and Achievers Medical Center aims to train the youth and offer them immediate employment. We are doing this to empower the youth by providing them with skills and job opportunities," she stated.
Dr. Konadu elaborated on the enrollment requirements, noting that they are targeting individuals from diverse backgrounds without emphasizing any specific qualifications. She also mentioned that people outside Obuasi can access this opportunity.
"We do not want to use education as a barrier for those who wish to access this opportunity, so the door is open for all who are interested," Dr. Konadu added.
