Agenda 111: A Hyperbole Of A Deceitful Ghanaian Leader

Feature Article Agenda 111: A Hyperbole Of A Deceitful Ghanaian Leader
SUN, 21 JUL 2024 1

"Agenda 111 will create 67,000 new opportunities for Ghanaians in terms of boosting Ghana's job market," claims Akufo Addo, the failed president of Ghana. The adage "Once a man, twice a child" is something I have heard, and I'm starting to realize that as a man ages, he reverts to being a child since the president of Ghana, who lied when he was younger, is now an adult who lies shamelessly. Politicians are notorious for their dishonesty, but Akufo Addo's is particularly terrible.

I posted an article on August 9, 2022, posing the question, "If The Demolished La Hospital Hasn't Been Replaced, How can Akufo Addo Construct 111 Hospitals?” "According to the president, Agenda 111 has been delayed due to location disputes, and the project will be finished before 2024." However, he has forgotten that he had previously told Ghanaians that the project was brought up out of overconfidence. If I am not mistaken, admitting it was said out of “overconfidence,” that means, Agenda 111 can’t be executed.

To return to my original question, is Akufo Addo suffering from old age and not realizing that his lies are doing more harm than help to his reputation? Is the president unaware that he demolished a hospital that provided care to the La-Teshie-Nugua communities and failed to replace it? Who in his right mind would destroy a hospital when corruption wouldn’t allow him to build it? What respect does Akufo Addo have for Ghanaians to tell them that “Agenda 111 will create 67,000 new opportunities for them?

The comment "Don't vote for Mahama to take the country and the economy backward" is the more unsettling one that Akufo Addo made to disclose his ill mental state. Ghana's economy is thriving under ex-president Mahama, with investments and industries growing rapidly. The country collapsed like a structure without a foundation when Akufo Addo and Bawumia misled Ghanaians into believing they would turn the country into the “Dubai of Africa” if given power. Ghana has turned into a horror today.

The list below reveals declarations made by the president and Bawumia before assuming office, that have long since been forgotten, and demonstrates that "Agenda 111" was a scam and falsehood to deceive Ghanaians.

1. Develop a strategic marketing plan to highlight our special historical sites, wildlife, waterfalls, and other cultural artifacts.

2. Take seriously the staffing of these tourism destinations and our hospitality sector as a whole.

3. We will work with the private sector to establish a cutting-edge hospitality teaching center with an operational hotel, classrooms, kitchens, a library, and dorm rooms to increase professionalism in the industry.

4. Motivate local communities to assume responsibility for and invest in the long-term viability of tourist attractions in their areas.

5. The NPP will support a revenue-sharing program that will funnel 5% of tourism receipts from well-established tourist destinations' admission prices into neighborhood community projects.

6. Develop the Ghana Tourist Authority into a cutting-edge, effective research and marketing organization with the required financial and technical resources to assist in promoting Ghana as a renowned tourism brand on a global scale.

7. Reactivate the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board and provide it with the necessary resources so that it can effectively serve as a repository for our cultural and historical records.

8. Strive for an ecotourism strategy that permits us to open up these locations while preserving nature.

9. Invest in tourism IT as a facilitator to advance knowledge and information exchange about the nation's tourism possibilities.

10. To offer our culture pride of place in our national development, the Culture Policy, devised and adopted under the Kufuor government, would be reviewed and aggressively implemented.

11. We'll create a thorough inventory of all our cultural resources so that the country has a database of them.

12. The NPP will see to it that the laws protecting Kente and Adinkra designs are vigorously upheld against unauthorized use by foreign parties.

13. A Creative Arts Fund will be created.
14. The NPP and the Chief Justice shall work together to establish a Creative Arts Division of the High Court to handle all disputes about intellectual property rights, complete with a specialized enforcement unit.

15. To organize and harmonize the many interests and fragmented associations into a well-functioning entity to protect the interests of members, the NPP would create a Creative Arts Council.

17. To obtain the technology and tools required to log creative works and calculate genuine and deserved royalties, the NPP will work with private sector interests.

18. In addition to establishing a new Copyright Office in Tamale to serve the northern sector in addition to the ones already in Accra and Kumasi, we will continue to pursue the construction of contemporary large-seating theaters in every regional capital except Accra, starting with Takoradi, Tamale, and Kumasi.

After nearly eight years in power, the NPP's administration failed because its politicians had no regard for the future. Their accomplishments include money laundering, rampant corruption, running illicit mines, and engaging in illegal gold transactions. Akufo Addo-Bawumia's terrible regime has been criticized by American economist Professor Steve Hanke, who was branded "dishonest" by one of their politicians, Samuel Bryan Buabeng, saying that "the Cedi has gained strength against the dollar."

In a remark I passed, I warned Mr. Buabeng not to attack the professor since he was acting dangerously. The Ghana cedi has now returned to its original location, as Ghanaians may have noticed. Ghanaians are currently facing high rates of inflation due to the severely depreciated currency. I'm a certain kind of writer; I'll tell you the truth; it's up to you to decide how to use what I write, but if you underestimate me, you'll pay the price, just like Akufo Addo did. I warned him a lot but never listened.

Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama submitted his resignation after he broke his election pledge to move a contentious US military base off the island of Okinawa. Therefore, as intelligent Ghanaians, why do we have to allow the NPP, Bawumia, or Akufo Addo to continue to rule the country after not fulfilling every promise of development they promised Ghanaians? They have now decided to manipulate the 2024 election to stir up political violence; however, Ghanaians are ready for them.

Akufo Addo is a liar, corrupt, and deceiver in every way and I wish to let him know that his "Agenda 111" initiative is a scam and that Ghanaians are too wise to believe him. At this age, if he is unable to stop lying, then I wish him good luck with his cathedral project. The president can also reshuffle his security, remove Dampare, and name a new IGP, but none of these measures will be successful since Ghanaians will continue to struggle for their liberation more violently than what is happening in Kenya.

Joel Savage, don't you forget that your own father Kwadjo Savage was a very tribal and corrupt backyard journalist.
