The Electoral Commission: A Tool for Political Manipulation 

I am compelled to speak out against the blatant politicization of the Electoral Commission after the Chairperson's ( Mrs Jean Mensah) shocking admission in parliament on 19th July 2024. She revealed that Mr. Attuahene, a known party communicator from the Bono region and a loyalist of the ruling party, appointed by the President, has been added to the commission. When questioned about the potential erosion of public trust, she shrugged off responsibility, claiming she's not the appointing authority.

This is a Gross Abrogation of Responsibility

By appointing party loyalists like Mr. Attuahene to the Electoral Commission, the President is brazenly attempting to subvert the will of the people and perpetuate a rigged political system. The Chairperson's response is a gross abrogation of responsibility, a dereliction of duty, and a betrayal of the public's trust.

Elections Reduced to a Sham
When party loyalists are appointed to manage the electoral process, the outcome is predetermined. Elections become a mere formality, a rubber stamp for the ruling party's agenda. This is not democracy; it's a dictatorship masquerading as democracy!

A Threat to Our Very Existence
The integrity of the electoral process is the lifeblood of democracy. Compromise it, and you compromise the very fabric of our society. We can not allow this treachery to stand! We must rise up and demand an impartial Electoral Commission, free from the shackles of party politics!
