
The King of the Igbo Community in Ghana, HRM Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Ihenetu, has congratulated Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno on his appointment as the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of operations of the Ghana Police Service.
According to Dr. Ihenetu, Yohuno's new position is well-deserved and welcome news to all Ghanaians. He added that Yohuno's appointment has been received with delight and conviction, as his contributions to the Ghana Police Service are overwhelming.
Dr. Ihenetu called on the newly appointed Deputy IGP to demonstrate great leadership, wisdom, and integrity to support his superior, IGP Dr. George Akufo Dampare, in striving to elevate the Ghana Police Service to greater heights and achievements.
He expressed confidence that COP Tetteh Yohuno's enviable experience in the Service will greatly contribute to maintaining law and order before, during, and after the upcoming general elections.
HRM Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Ihenetu also commended the President for appointing COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the Deputy IGP in charge of operations, partnering with the IGP to ensure peace and order in the country.
He praised COP Yohuno as an effective and efficient officer whose passion and service to the Ghana Police Service have been nothing short of outstanding and hardworking.
Last week, President Akufo-Addo appointed Commissioner of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations.
A press statement from the Presidency stated that the appointment followed the advice of the Police Council during its meeting held on Wednesday, July 17, where COP Yohuno’s exceptional credentials and dedication to duty were acknowledged.
The statement by the Jubilee House Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin, also described the Commissioner as a distinguished law enforcement officer with a career spanning over three decades, during which he has held key positions within the Service.
President Akufo-Addo extended his congratulations to COP Yohuno on his well-deserved appointment and wished him the very best in the discharge of his duties.
