Mahama Ought to Be Blaming NDC’s Dubai Property Grabs for Ghana’s Economic Woes

John Mahama and Inusah Fuseini

I never quite followed the debate but whoever boasted proudly, recently, that his hard-earned acquisition of a Dutch passport was of far greater value than having a doctorate in Ghana, in particular under the previous John “I Have No Classmates in Ghana” Dramani Mahama ragtag regime, was telling it precisely like it is and was, as the immortalized African American Human and Civil Rights Legend and Muslim cleric Malcolm X would have bluntly and tersely put the same. In particular under the previous Mahama-led Dumsor-inflected regime of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) principally because, under that most grossly incompetent and most tribalistic regime of the so-called Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), if that Dutch passport holder had been a southern-descended Ghanaian citizen, s/he most likely had had absolutely No Fee-Free Access to the sort of landmark and historically unprecedented Fee-Free Senior High, Vocational, Technical and STEM Curricula Education System as the one established by the Akufo-Addo-led government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Which is why it comes as absolutely nothing short of downright outrageous to hear the twice-defeated, one-term former President who also doubles as the Serial and the Dynastic Presidential Candidate of the country’s main opposition National Democratic Congress smugly and obtusely accuse the most academically and economically progressive Fourth-Republican government of having created the current economic mess in which the overwhelming majority of Ghanaian citizens find themselves (See “Mahama blames Dutch passport-PHD debate on NPP's economic mismanagement” Modernghana.com 6/20/24).

First of all, the man has never even acquired the academic and/or the professional equivalent of a Master’s Degree, so it is not clear to this author whether the Bole-Bamboi native, from the Akufo-Addo-created Savannah Region, has any basic appreciable understanding of precisely what it means for anybody to hold the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in any discipline. Even more significant, the Dutch passport-owning manual laborer resident in the Netherlands, if he had lived under the grueling four-and-half-year tenure of the Mahama-led regime of the National Democratic Congress, would have been one of the estimated 300,000 (Three-Hundred-Thousand) able-bodied and talented Ghanaian youths who were annually, literally, coughed up into our streets and alleyways by a government of kleptomaniacs and clinical kleptocrats who far preferred to steal and stash Ghanaian taxpayers’ money in one of the Arab Gulf States, especially Dubai, instead of building the sort of first-class 24-Hour economy that Candidate Mahama has been hypocritically accusing the man who twice defeated him for the Presidency of having woefully failed to make an existential reality in Ghana (See “Full List of Inusah Fuseini’s 20 Dubai Real-Estate Properties Valued at Over $6.5 Million” Ghanaweb.com 6/26/24).

And to the preceding must also be promptly added that the ugly man in dire need of plastic facial surgery to “Dekaakaamotobi-ized” him, for the sake of our nightmare-traumatized children and grandchildren, who was recently exposed in a criminal investigations report by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), as having acquired landed and real-estate properties valued in excess of $6 million (USD), was part of the Mahama-protected ministerial syndicate of double-salary squirreling criminals royally exposed by then Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo. And now, rather characteristically asininely, Candidate Mahama had the temerity to tell celebrants gathered at the 50th Anniversary of the Christian Service University, located in the Asante regional capital of Kumasi, recently, that it was the rarefied honesty of the members of his government, virulently opposed to the supposedly deceptive propaganda tactics of his main and most formidable political opponents, to wit, the New Patriotic Party, that unwisely resulted in Ghanaian voters’ all-too-righteous decision to twice roundly reject these most morally irredeemable professional thieves and common thugs.

And for those of our readers who may not be very familiar with the name of Mr. Inusah Abdulai Bistav Fuseini, he is the former Mahama-appointed Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and some three other cabinet portfolios, including Road-Transport Minister, if memory serves Yours Truly accurately. Anybody who thinks that Mr. Fuseini, whose equally criminally raised son is presently serving a prison term right here in the United States of America on fraudulent extortion charges, acquired his thievish Dubai properties on the blindside of an “honest” President John “European Airbus SE Payola” Dramani Mahama, must be living in a bubble somewhere in outer space.

Very likely, Inusah Fuseini may very well be profitably fronting for Kwame Gonja on some of these properties. Any wonder then that, recently, Candidate -General John “Gnassingbe” Dramani Mahama has been curiously and weirdly campaigning about thoroughly pruning Ghana’s 1992 Republican Constitution of any vestigial remnants of the death penalty that may still be present therein?
