Lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Prof. Kobby Mensah has shared that Fitch Solutions’ prediction of victory for John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 General Election is not new.
Speaking to Adom FM in an interview, Prof. Kobby Mensah said Ghanaians already know and expect the ruling New Patriotic Party (NDC) to lose the December 7 polls.
He argued that the hardships Ghanaians are going through under the current administration have never been witnessed before.
“I’m not surprised by the prediction at all. If you go to town to inquire from the people everybody complains that things are tough. These are the things we use to check whether the incumbent government will win or lose. So I think the findings of Fitch confirm what we are seeing. Everybody is firm in their mind that government will lose the election,” Prof. Kobby Mensah said.
According to Fitch Solutions, 54% of respondents in a recent survey favour former president John Dramani Mahama to become the next president of Ghana.
The projection by the London-based firm has been rejected by the ruling government.
The party in power insists that its candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win the 2024 presidential election.
