Former deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, has recounted how his own party members accused him of being a "threat" to former President John Dramani Mahama when the party won power.

As an influential figure during the late Professor John Evans Atta-Mills' administration, Anyidoho said he was reduced to a common floor member within the NDC, to a point where he was seen as an "enemy" by the party's leadership.

According to Anyidoho, influential individuals within the Mahama-led government ensured he was excluded from party operations and even barred from visiting the seat of government, Jubilee House when the NDC was in power.

"Under John Dramani Mahama, I was not allowed entry to the Flagstaff House.

“I was declared an enemy and a threat to the president's life," Anyidoho recounted.

In an interview with Kasapa FM, monitored by ModernGhana News, Anyidoho expressed his frustration and disappointment, stating that he was unjustly hated by the party he had dedicated so much over the years.

"I supported the decision by Prof Mills to choose Mahama as his running mate, even though he wasn't a friend, I had no issues with him," he emphasised.
