The Chiefs of Pakyi Number One in the Ashanti Region have expressed their gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for overseeing the appointment of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for election 2024.

They presented a sheep as a symbol of their appreciation during the President's visit to the area to cut the sod for the construction of the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema Kokoben highway.

According to the Chiefs, the approval of Dr. Prempeh, a native of Pakyi, by the ruling party demonstrates its recognition of the contributions of residents in the region to the party's success.

The Maawerehene of Pakyi Number Two, Nana Agyenim Boateng, praised the NPP for the numerous developments they have witnessed under the party's leadership.

He noted that the presentation of the sheep was a significant gesture of gratitude and respect from the Chiefs to President Akufo-Addo, highlighting the importance of Dr. Opoku Prempeh's appointment to the people of Pakyi and the region as a whole.
