President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cut the sod for the construction of a 20-kilometer Anwiankwanta-Ahenema road, marking a significant milestone in the government's efforts to address perennial congestion in the area.

The project according to the president aims to improve the condition of road networks, enhance safety, and reduce travel time for thousands of individuals in the area.

Addressing the gathering on Monday, July 15, 2024, President Akufo-Addo emphasized that his government remains focused on providing quality roads for the country, noting that such infrastructure projects are a testament to the government's commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians.

He expressed his determination to replicate such road projects in other parts of the country, demonstrating visionary and decisive leadership.

"The construction of the Anwiankwanta-Ahenema road is part of a broader initiative to improve the national road network, promote economic growth, and enhance the overall quality of life for citizens," he said.

For his part, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II hailed the president for his infrastructural projects in the region.

He urged the president to ensure the project is completed to help reduce congestion on the road.

The Asantehene was represented by the Asafohene Acheamfuor Akowua Agyeman Bonsu.

On behalf of the Asantehene, the Asafohene said residents in the region are grateful to the NPP government for the good works in the region.
