Election 2024: Introduce Yellow Sheet as backup document to correct errors on Pink Sheet — CDD-Ghana tells EC

The Center for Democratic Development Ghana (CDD-Ghana) is calling for a standard policy to address mistakes on pink sheets during ballot counting on election days.

According to CDD-Ghana, a clear policy will provide direction on how errors on pink sheets are handled across all polling centers in the country.

Dr. Kojo Asante, Director for Policy Engagement and Partnership at CDD-Ghana, is urging the Electoral Commission of Ghana to introduce a "Yellow Sheet" as a backup document to correct errors on pink sheets.

This, he believes, will enhance the integrity of the electoral process.

"The current system lacks a clear procedure for correcting mistakes on pink sheets, which can lead to confusion and disputes," Dr. Asante said. "A standard policy will ensure consistency and transparency in the correction process, boosting confidence in the electoral system."

He said this in an interview with this reporter on Saturday, July 13.

CDD-Ghana's call for a standard policy comes as Ghana prepares for upcoming elections, highlighting the need for robust mechanisms to ensure the accuracy and reliability of electoral processes.
