Builsa South MP Dr. Clement Apaak has called on Ghanaians to punish the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for worsening the economic conditions of citizens in the upcoming polls.
In a social media post on Monday, July 15, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker lambasted the government for crashing the economy.
The Ranking Member on Parliament’s Education Committee criticised the ruling party’s claim that the current living condition is better than 2916.
“How can anyone claim that the conditions of Ghanaians are better today compared to 2016? By what method does anyone conclude that 4.80ghc to 1 usd is worse than 15ghc to 1 usd?" he quizzed.
Dr. Apaak cited how a tuber that used to sell for 5cedis in 2016 now goes for 40 cedis is better.
“You are busy selling state and public assets to yourselves, and you say we should be quiet? You give senior citizens crude haircuts, and you want to stay in power?" the MP stated.
He further called on Ghanaians to vote against the NPP and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, its 2024 flagbearer, "for their crimes against Ghanaians" in the next elections.
