Founder of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe has shared that he believes it is possible for Ghana’s economy to fully recover in 15 years.

According to him, this can only be possible if the citizenry demands an effective and transparent governance.

The IMANI Africa boss was reacting to a comment by former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Frimpong Boateng in the Daily Post.

The former Minister is quoted to have said it would take Ghana 30 years to recover from the economic crisis created by President Akufo-Addo’s government.

“It will take 30 years to bring Ghana’s economy destroyed by Akufo-Addo and Bawumia back to any semblance of recovery,” Prof. Frimpong Boateng said as reported by the Daily Post.

In a post on Facebook, Franklin Cudjoe said he believes the recovery can be a lot quicker if Ghanaians demand efficient, effective and transparent governance.

He argued that if this is not demanded, Ghana will go five decades and the economic ruins that would be left by President Akufo-Addo’s government will still be scary.

“This is a former Minister in this government. I'd say 15 years if the right attitude to an efficient, effective and transparent governance system is demanded by all of us, else even 50 years we would still be here, stalling and retrogressing," Franklin Cudjoe said.
