Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed confidence that his decision to spearhead an issues-based campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2024 elections is the right strategy for success.

Dr. Bawumia made the remarks after wrapping up a three-day tour of constituencies in the Northern Region as part of his nationwide campaign engagements.

The tour saw the NPP flagbearer receive a warm reception in Gushegu, Karaga and Nanton constituencies.

In a social media post on Monday, July 15, Dr. Bawumia said feedback from traditional leaders, opinion leaders and the youth left him convinced that focusing on key policy issues is resonating strongly with Ghanaians.

"From chiefs to opinion leaders to the youth, it is increasingly clear that my resolve to mount an issues-based campaign is the right path to success," Dr. Bawumia wrote.

The NPP flagbearer has been explaining during his tour that the NPP's record in expanding infrastructure such as roads, establishing the Free SHS policy, as well as fulfilling key pledges like the One District One Factory initiative gives the party solid ground to appeal to voters based on issues rather than empty rhetoric.

Dr. Bawumia has been spearheading the NPP's 2024 campaigns with a message centered on continuing the socio-economic programs to accelerate development across the country.
