‘Foolish Kwami Sefa Kayi told me I’d have been shot if I were in another country’ —A Plus reveals ‘beef’ with radio host

Independent parliamentary candidate-hopeful for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has revealed the reason behind his ongoing feud with renowned broadcaster and host of Peace FM's Kokrokoo Morning Show, Kwami Sefa Kayi.

A Plus disclosed that his anger towards Sefa Kayi originates from an incident in 2017 when they met at a drinking bar in Accra.

During their encounter, Sefa Kayi reportedly made a provocative statement that left A Plus deeply offended.

"At that meeting, you said to me, 'You are the one haunting the government... You are the one going around talking about this government; talking about Abu, Asenso, and other government appointees, saying they are corrupt.

“It is only in Ghana that you can do that; you would have been shot if you were in some other country,'" A Plus recounted during a Facebook live session.

A Plus expressed his disappointment and anger, stating that he once had a close relationship with Sefa Kayi. However, he found the journalist's comments wrong and unacceptable, prompting him to keep a distance.

According to him, Sefa Kayi is engaging in partisan 'journalism', noting that the radio host had no problem when he criticised the previous Mahama administration but frowned on his (A Plus’) criticism of the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

"You are telling me I would have been shot in another country, but you think you have the right to sit on Peace FM and talk about NDC?" A Plus questioned.
