Nkrumah comment: NAPO needs psychiatrist — Dr Nyaho Tamakloe

Founding member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has waded into the controversy comment by the party’s Vice Presidential candidate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo who described Nana Akufo-Addo as Ghana's best president.

NAPO argued that President Akufo-Addo has perform far better than Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, a controversial comment that has attracted the anger of many.

Commenting on the matter, the NPP founding member noted that the former Energy Minister needs psychiatric evaluation for making such comment.

According to him, the problem with the NPP running mate isn't arrogance as many have been saying but an inferiority complex.

“As for me, I will not advise him because I have already told you what his problem is. It is not arrogance, it is inferiority complex, and he needs the help of a psychiatrist,” he stated.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based 3FM on Thursday, July 11, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe insisted Napo should apologise to former President John Kufuor for his assertion.

He said: "He should apologise to Kufuor because when President Kufuor took over this country, this country was in shambles. He was able to straighten things."

"I will ask him to go and apologise to Kufour. Because without Kufuor when we took over in 2000, we wouldn’t have got to where we are today,” he added.

Napo made the controversial comment at his unveiling as NPP running mate in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9.
